Big Data in Astronomy

Astronomy has always had big data. We just did not know it
was called as big data. In this talk I will describe the Palomar
Transient Factory -- an automated discovery
of the Universe, specifically cosmic explosions. The purpose
of the talk is to start a conversation between astronomers
and computer scientists on how to extract more information
for large astronomical data sets.
