The University of Aizu provides Overseas Study Programs for students to study and conduct research overseas for the purpose of fostering excellent human resources capable of great regional contributions with global perspectives and to improve the University's international competitiveness. The University is now inviting applications for participation in the two overseas study programs, as described below. Interested students are encouraged to apply.


- 1. Program Overview
- Research, taking lectures, Language/Culture/Living overseas experience
- *Students will be required to arrange training plans and put them into practice independently.
- 2. The number of student delegates
- Approximately two student delegates (To be determined within budget)
- 3. Eligibility
- Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at the University is eligible to apply to the program.
However, international students are not eligible for application to the program. In addition, application eligibility
for fourth-year students is limited to those who plan to enroll in The University of Aizu Graduate School, for second-year
students of the Master's Program is limited to those who plan to enroll in the Doctor's Program of the University of Aizu.
Third-year students of the Doctoral Program and over are not eligible for application to the program.
- 4. Period
- Departure from Japan: In or After July, 2011
- Return to Japan: By the end of March, 2012
- *The period of support will be for about three months per student. However, if the period of the study program will last for more than three months, students will be provided with as much support as possible within the budget. In this case, please arrange for a consultation with the CSIP.
- Return to Japan: By the end of March, 2012
- 5. Host institutions
- In principle, a host institution should be chosen from the list of "International Partner Universities" in conjunction with consultation between the applicants and his/her academic supervisor. For students who have been enrolled at the Undergraduate School for three years or less, a faculty member who can be consulted regarding the relevant students' academic abilities and academic grades, etc., or a liaison at the student's preferred host institution can be considered as the students' academic supervisor.
- 6. Application Procedures
- Fill in the application form below, and submit it to the Center for Strategy of International Programs (CSIP) with a recommendation from your academic supervisor.
- Deadline for submission of the application: Friday, 5pm June 24, 2011

- 8. Selection Process
- Screening of applicants based on submitted documents
- Interview in English: Applicants who pass the preliminary document screening.
- Final selection results will be notified to applicants by CSIP.
