The lectures will include a review of haptic modeling, including CAD authoring tool "FreeForm Concept" for SensAble Phantom Omni force-display interface, and suggestions for advanced techniques, including constructive solid geometry (CSG). There will also be "hands-on" sessions, in which each participant uses the described software to make their own creation. These objects can be applicable in many applications as new hankos, fonts, sculptures, decorations, and souvenirs. 3D Studio Max, Phantom haptic interface, and FreeForm Concept or ClayTools software will be used to produce outputs for a rapid prototyping machine (3D printer 'ZPrinter 310 System').

The goal of proposed seminar is in studying how to develop advanced Mobile Networked Service devices (MSN-devices) for deferent purposes based on Windows CE and .NET Framework platforms. In other works, student will study and be trained about how enhance standard mobile devices like PDA, WILLCOM, etc by special purpose applications. The server part will include developing a set of utilities allowing programming and adaptation to the user's profiles. The first part of this project is in evaluating the MS design toolkits in how Windows technology works on Mobile device? The lectures and exercises will also include topics described how to develop the mobile application. .NET Framework session will be exposed the foundation of the networked communication via .NET framework between Service Provider and Device. The other part will include the Xcode that the complete developer toolset for creating applications for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. This package installs the Xcode IDE, performance analysis tools, iPhone OS Simulator, and OS framework bundles in the form of Mac SDKs and iPhone SDKs. During semiar each student should design some mobile application assigned by a teacher and present it on the final meeting.
The main objective of this seminar is to develop new software tools or systems for analysis and visualization of data from space missions.
We currently have a large amount of images and spectral data through many space missions to planetary bodies including the Earth, Moon and Asteroids. Tools for more efficient analysis and visualization are important to draw much knowledge from these data.
Guest lecturer will introduce the latest trend of space missions and their data analyses.
Secure and sustainable cloud computing requires an intelligent infrastructure which can realize heterogeneous service oriented architecture (SOA) based systems. Sustainability of information infrastructures are quite important for information providing in a time of disaster. A heterogeneous SOA based systems are quite important when several services are unavailable. A heterogeneous SOA requires loosely coupled services and data stores.
In this project, we design a sustainable intelligent infrastructure using low power consumption serves and network-centric approaches with content-aware virtual network.
Asynchronous messaging is quite important to construct a SOA-based system. In a SOA-based system, messaging, message mediation, and message-based routing are so important. A content-aware network provides message-related functions to construct an intelligent infrastructure.
In this seminar, we use a content-aware networking scheme to construct a loosely coupled services and data stores. We also study the efficient collaboration of servers of low-power consumption. In this seminar we also study the requirement to post-internet in order to realize a sustainable information infrastructure in a time of disaster.
In resent years, there has been increased interest in music processing technology driven by the growing popularity of the portable digital music players, mobile phones and other similar devices. Most frequently encountered tasks in music processing are music genre and music mood identification.
The objective of this seminar will be to develop new algorithms and applications for mobile devices using available music processing technology.

The recommendation systems, which suggest preferable items to a user by analyzing past activities of him and the other users, are applied to many web commerce sites because users can find something good for him with a larger frequency, and the sites can increase purchases.
The objective of this theme is to develop a recommendation system for hotel reservation. The student will develop a module which collects a data set through web automatically and collaborative filters with the data set, with a good web user interface.
The developed software system will be opened at an open seminar with industries.
July 11th, 2011 - Sept. 30th, 2011, (excepting for July 26th to Aug. 26th)
The purpose of this seminar is to provide an opportunity to the students to study different ways for creating "natural" images. By natural here we mean that the images created by the computer look like something exist in nature, and the judgement is given by human Kansei. We will study different methods based on soft computing. The natural images created can be used as the "cover data" to hide important secret information. This topic is very important in steganography. It is an important alternative of cryptography-based information security.

Through this seminar, students can learn the ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) design flow using VDEC CAD tools, and implement trial chips.
The design flow consists of 1) RTL design, 2) Logic synthesis, 3) Placement and routing, and 4)Verification for each design. Students use several CAD tools according to each step on the design flow. VDEC provides and supports these tools and licenses, and students can learn the design and verification processes using their tools, and implement trial chips using 0.18um process provided by Rhom Co., Ltd.
Student must have been mastered the contents in the class "VLSI Design","VLSI Device Technology", "Semiconductor Devices", "Computer Architecture", "Comp. Organ. and Design", what are classes in the under graduate school, UoA.

The main objective of this seminar is to implement an integrared circuit on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) board. Through this experiment, students learn integrated circuit design and hardware execution. Moreover, students learn how to use a design support CAD tool for their design. Currently, in industry, FPGA and its design support CAD tool is getting to be widely used because of its reconfigurability. Therefore, this experiment may be very useful when students work at an LSI vendor.
Through the seminar, students can understand
Method:
This seminars are organized to study the following subjects. First we will study basic properties of nuclear physics which are fundamentals of nuclear energy. We will also discuss how the nuclear properties are used to create nuclear energy. Next we will study basic knowledge of radioactivity to explore accidents in Chernobyl and Fukushima reactors., i.e., origins, development and differences of two accidents. This seminars intend to obtain basic facts and information sources of nuclear power and to help scientific interpretation of the radiation and the nuclear energy problems. After the accident of Fukushima nuclear power plant, it is desperately increased to have correct knowledge and understanding of nuclear energy. Since we have many nuclear reactors in Fukushima prefecture, it is important for us to obtain proper knowledge of nuclear energy. Because of this reason, this seminars are planned for graduate students in University of Aizu.
