Sosho-sai 2008

The University of Aizu Festival, "Sosho-sai 2008," was held for 2 days on Saturday, the 11th and on Sunday, the 12th of October.

Under the theme for this year's festival of "Encounters," many people visited events that included various on-stage programs such as music performances and the raffle drawing, and various attractions organized by student activity clubs. Free shuttle bus services that connected the site to Aizu-Wakamatsu Station and the "Kosho-sai" festival at the Junior Collede Division were also provided to visitors.

In conjunction with the festival, the University opened many of its laboratories to introduce various research conducted by faculty members and students. Visitors had opportunities to try their hand at operation of computers to experience a part of the research. It was a good opprotunity to help people understand widespred applications of computer technology and their high potential.

Representatives related to the school festival commitee and student group activities from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS), which has been one of our partner universities, visited the festival on Sunday, the 12th. KUFS "k-on" music club gave a live performance on the main stage. These activities facilitated realization of mutual exchange among students from both universities.
