The 6th All-Japan High School Computing Contest, "PC Koshien 2008"

The final round of the 6th All-Japan High School Computing Contest (also known as "PC Koshien 2008") was held at the University of Aizu for 2 days on Saturday, the 8th and on Sunday, the 9th of November. A total of 60 high school students (30 teams of 2) who had passed preliminary rounds out of 440 teams (1,261 people) from 43 prefectures, proceeded to the finals and competed for a grand prize in the "Programming" and "Digital Contents" division. Many people visited the site and enjoyed other events held in conjunction with the contest, such as screenings of videos and animations created by leading Asian artists, experiencing game software made by students of the University, special lectures by contest judges and a raffle, etc.
In the contest, representative teams from Hiroshima Gakuin High School won a grand prize in the Programming division and Okinawa National College of Technology also received the prize in the Digital Contents division. Regarding 4 high school teams which participated in the contest from Fukushima Prefecture, Iwaki High school won a judge's special award in the Programming division presented by Mr. Hisao Yazawa.
