This year's festival was the seventh university festival since the its foundation. The Part I was held at the Junior College Division on October 23 (Sat.) and 24 (Sun.), 1999, and the Part II was held at the School of Computer Science and Engineering on October 30 (Sat.) and 31 (Sun.), 1999. Simultaneously, the University organized ¡ÈOpen Campus¡É and opened the Multimedia Center to the public to show the inside of laboratories not usually accessible to the public and presented the content of research. This year¡Çs festival was particularly lively, as events such as a panel discussion between President Shoichi Noguchi of the University of Aizu and Mayor Ichiro Kanke of Aizu-Wakamatsu City, were held to commemorate the centenary of municipal government of Aizu-Wakamatsu City.
