University Regulation on Conferring the Title of Professor Emeritus
The standards regarding selection of Professor Emeritus and selection
procedures, etc. were provided.
An Outline of the Standards:
- An individual who has served as a full professor (this excludes
visiting professors) at the University of Aizu (hereinafter referred
to as the ``University") for a period of 15 years or more, and has made
significant achievements in his/her educational and/or academic field.
- An individual who has made significant contributions as the
president or vice president of the University.
- An individual who has achieved outstanding results as a full
professor at the University in his/her educational and/or academic
field.
An Outline of the selection procedures:
- The Council Of Deans And Directors Etc. shall make the decision on
which candidate(s) is (are) to be conferred the Title, and recommend
him/her (them) to the Faculty Assembly.
- The Faculty Assembly shall make a decision on this matter by the
support of two-thirds or more of those members in attendance at the
relevant Faculty Assembly Meeting.
Professor Emeritus shall be accorded courtesy services such as reception
of publications, invitation to important occasions, and access to the
University Library.
