Partial Revision of the University Regulation on the Selection of
the University President
For the purpose of shortening the election period and simplifying
election procedures, the University Regulation on the Selection of the
University President and the University Instructions on the
Implementation of the University Regulation on the Selection of the
University President were revised, and adopted for the Qualified
University President Election conducted on February 16th, 2001.
An outline of the revision:
- The University President Candidate Selection Committee that
selects at most three qualified candidates from among those
recommended was abolished.
- The period to publicly announce the recommendation period was
shortened by changing the period from ``prior to 40 days before the
election" to ``prior to 30 days before the election."
- The voting method was changed from a hand-written ballot system to
a ballot-marking voting system.
