On March 23, the fifth graduation ceremonies of the University of Aizu School of Computer Science and Engineering and of the University of Aizu Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering were held at the University of Aizu Auditorium. A total 214 students graduated from the School of Computer Science and Engineering: 139 from the Department of Computer Software and 75 from the Department of Computer Hardware. A total of 54 graduate students graduated from the Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering: 27 each from the Graduate Department of Information Systems and the Graduate Department of Computer Systems. Yukikazu Hidaka, an undergraduate student of the Department of Computer Hardware, and Katsuyuki Watanabe, a graduate student of the Graduate Department of Information Systems, were conferred the University Presidential Award for outstanding academic achievement.
