UNIVERSITY REGULATION CONCERNING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY OF AIZU FOREIGN FACULTY MEMBERS (REVISION DRAFT)

         Article One (Objective)
 1.1 This regulation-under the authority of the Special Measures Law Regarding the Employment of Foreign Nationals at National and Public Universities (Law No.89,1982), Article 2, Paragraph 3 provides for the term of office of foreign professors, associate professors, and assistant professors (instructors) employed at the University of Aizu (for the purpose of this regulation, hereinafter collectively referred to as "FOREIGN FACULTY MEMBERS").            

         Article Two (Term Of Office)
2.1 The term of office of FOREIGN FACULTY MEMBERS shall be three years. However, FOREIGN FACULTY MEMBERS may be reappointed.

2.2 Considerations of reappointment referred to in Paragraph 2.1 above shall be conducted according to standards established by the Faculty Assembly.

2.3 Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 2.1 herein, the University President, upon consultation with the Faculty Assembly, may or may not fix the term of office of those FOREIGN FACULTY MEMBERS to be reappointed.

         ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
1 The regulation shall be enforced as of April 1, 1993.
2 The term of office of the faculty members who are employed
at the CORE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER which is provided in Article Eight of the UNIVERSITY REGULATION CONCERNING THE INTERNAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF AIZU and are in charge of the NEXT GENERATION SUPER- HIGH-SPEED NETWORK RESEARCH PROJECT shall be five years, notwithstanding the provisions of the Article Two herein, and the faculty members may not be reappointed. However, the term of office of the faculty members who are appointed by from April 2, 1999 to March 31, 2004 shall limited to March 31, 2004, and the faculty members may not be reappointed.  

         ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
The regulation shall be enforced as of April 1, 1999.
