Establishment of the Regulation Concerning the Term of Office of University of Aizu Faculty Members and Partial Revision of the Regulation concerning the Term of Office of University of Aizu Foreign Faculty Members

As it is necessary to work on research and development to take the lead in the age of computer science before others in the future, it was decided within the regular Faculty Assembly meeting the other day that the "Core and Information Technology Center" would be established to promote projects within the University.

The first project to be carried out by the Center shall be the development of fundamental technology for a super-high-speed network and advanced application as the "next generation super-high-speed network research project" to be carried out for five years from 1999 to 2003.

The faculty members, etc. affiliated with this Center shall be organized of University of Aizu faculty members currently employed, visiting researchers, etc. as well as new faculty members to be employed with the limited term of office of five years as the "Regulation Concerning the Term of Office of University of Aizu Faculty Members" has been established within the Faculty Assembly.

As this regulation shall not be applied to foreign faculty members, partial revision of the "Term of Office of University of Aizu Foreign Faculty Members" has also been made in order to handle foreign faculty members in the same manner.

This is to notify you of the announcement of the establishment and revision of the regulations.
