English Composition Courseware Development

Thomas Orr,
Associate Professor, Center for Language Research

The English Composition Courseware Development Project is a three-year initiative begun in 1993 for the purpose of creating English courseware suitable for the specific writing needs of students at the University of Aizu. In 1993, research focused on assessing the entry-level writing ability of freshman students, comparing the findings with existing linguistic data in print on the subject, and prioritizing significant trouble spots for treatment in the curriculum.
