A delegation from the government of Jingzhou City (which established friendly relations with Aizu-Wakamatsu City) Hubei Province, China, visited Aizu-Wakamatsu on the invitation from the Aizu-Wakamatsu municipal government on April 21, 1998. In addition to the visit of Aizu-Wakamatsu for promoting a better understanding among the citizens of the two cities, the delegation also visited the University of Aizu and toured the facilities of the University and the Multimedia Center following an explanation about the outline of the University. They were very much interested in the University in Japan as the first university exclusively dedicating to the research and education of computer science and asked many questions about the academic, administrative and managerial aspect of the University. They seemed to expect to have some exchange programs between the University of Aizu and the universities in Jingzhou City.
