Forum for University-Industry Cooperation

The University of Aizu Industry-University Forum was held with the aim of introducing research activities and achievements at the University of Aizu to corporations and to initiate cooperative ties between industry and academia.

The forum was held in both Tokyo and Aizu in an open campus format, in which corporate representatives could discuss research issues directly with all the faculty members. Undergraduate students and graduate students also actively participated in presenting research activities.

The first session was held on November 25 last year in the Head Office of the Japan Development Bank. The second took place on December 12 at the University of Aizu. The 200-seat auditorium in the Tokyo Meeting Hall was full to capacity and the event at the Aizu Meeting Hall was so successful that there was standing room only in the university's 300-seat auditorium. The fact that many companies showed they had an interest in research and education at the University of Aizu is very fortunate for the university and marks another step in our attempt to forge links between industry and academia.
