Conditions for Employment

(From the Department of Student Affairs)

In fiscal 1997, the long-standing agreement on recruiting new graduates was abolished and the environment surrounding students changed considerably. Companies have ceased their hitherto practice of hiring new graduates at exactly the same time and ended up hiring talented recruits at an earlier stage by carefully spending time on their selection. Meanwhile, the computer industry increased the number of employees it hired last year as well, partly in order to deal with the year 2000 problem, and the University of Aizu has received more job advertisements than last year.

In this favorable situation, students at the university have selected the companies that meet their future objectives at an early stage, made active efforts to promote themselves to corporations, and managed to obtain promises of employment. In its role as a university, University of Aizu will forge links with more companies that hire graduates, strive to provide appropriate information and offer assistance to ensure that students find employment that corresponds to their desires.
