Signing of Agreement with St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Russia
An agreement for scientific and educational cooperation was concluded between the University of Aizu and
St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University (SPBSPU), Russia, on Monday, June 8. The ceremony for conclusion
of the agreement was held at SPBSPU on the same day at 11:00 a.m. local time with attendance of President Tsunoyama
of the University of Aizu and Vice President Arseniev of SPBSPU to sign the letter of agreement.
Professor Marakhovsky, a former faculty member of the University of Aizu, is currently working as a profesor at
the Faculty of SPBSPU, that made it easy to promote an exchange between the two universities. Associate Professor
Klyuev of the Software Engineering Laboratory took a primary role on our side to advance the consideration on this agreement.
These universities reached the agreement to develop cooperation in exchange of undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral students
as well as exchange of researchers in the fields of Software Engineering and Control, and Information Engineering between
the universities. Implementation of joint research, international conference and joint publications of these results will be
promoted under the agreement.
The universities will make further discussions on regarding detailed exchange activities in the future.
