Intercultural Exchange with a Group from Korea

A group of 20 university students and chaperones from Korea, headed by Professor Jeon Hyung Sik of Korea University, visited the University of Aizu on Monday, December 3.
The group visited Japan as a part of youth exchange programs implemented under an agreement between the government of Japan and Korea, and consisted of selected students studying science and technology from various universities including some students majoring in computer related fields. The group visited the University of Aizu to observe and have an intercultural exchange meeting with our students.
Following a welcome speech given by Assistant Professor Incheon Paik of the University, who is from Korea, students divided into into 3 groups and started to talk each other through translators or using IC dictionaries, and had discussions on each of the country's university systems, life on campus, job opportunities and certification programs, etc..
After the meeting, the group took a campus tour to see the University facilities and Assistant Professor Paik kindly showed the students around his laboratory, helping to promote their understanding of educational environments of the University of Aizu.
