Lecture Series Given by Assistant Professor Patrick Ferro from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, USA

The first lecture of a series was given by Assistant Professor Patrick Ferro from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT), USA, and was held at the University-Business Innovation Center on Monday, February 18, 2008.
The opening lecture of the series was titled "DyKnow, Tablet PC and Course Management Software in Undergraduate Engineering Education". The lecture started at 10:00 a.m.. Prof. Ferro introduced successful results achieved from use of Tablet PCs, DyKnow software in engineering education, and also cited practical use of course management software used at RHIT. Approximately 20 people, including several University faculty members, participated in the lecture.
RHIT has been ranked in several publications as America's best provider of undergraduate engineering education. The University of Aizu has been promoting a practical education program for its internationalization, learning from RHIT, through mutual dispatch of faculty members and staff between the institutions. The lecture was held as part of this program.

Abstract: Introduction of engineering education using radio broadcasts and podcasts. Effectiveness of information provision through an on-campus radio program related to engineering education.
Tuesday, February 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lecture title: "International Collaboration in Engineering Design Courses"
Abstract: Introduction of international joint-courses conducted by RHIT and the Kanazawa Institute of Technology.
