Signing of an Agreement with FPT University, Vietnam

The University of Aizu concluded an agreement for cooperation with FPT University, Vietnam, on Thursday, March 6.
FPT University was established in January, 2007, for the purpose of nurturing world-class IT engineers. FPT University has been seeking strategic international partnerships with world-renowned IT companies and also has a strong desire for international exchanges with overseas universities. For this reason, Associate Professor John Brine of the Center for Language Research, the University of Aizu, took the role of primary contact and had preparatory talks for the agreement with FPT University.
This time, both universities reached an agreement regarding mutual visits by faculty members and students, exchange of scientific publications and information, and further promotion of international cooperation by preparing detailed working programs. President Tsunoyama of the University of Aizu and Chancellor Le Truong Tung of FPT University signed the letter of agreement.

FPT University
For the purpose of nurturing IT engineers, FPT University was established by FPT Corporation, a major IT company in Vietnam. It is located in the capital, Hanoi. Approximately 300 students were enrolled in the University for the first year. FPT University emphasizes work-oriented education for students to acquire professional skills, but also focuses on cultural activities for developing problem-solving ability and competence in communication. The University's core principle includes its internationalization. Japanese education is promoted at the University in order to respond to high demands from the Japanese market. Modern facilities have been prepared and a new campus is also under construction.
