Mr. Wang Shi Yang Receives a Special Award from a Japanese Speech Contest

4 students from China studying at the University of Aizu competed in the 15th International Speech Contest in Japanese which was held on Saturday, November 29, in Fukushima City.
The contest aimed to encourage international students studying at universities/colleges in the Prefecture to increase their desire to learn the Japanese language and also to improve their abilities. A total of 14 students from countries such as China, Korea and Vietnam participated in the contest and made speeches on such themes as their impressions of Japan and what they learned from their experiences of living in a different cultures with different customs. Mr. Wang Shi Yang, a first-year student at the Graduate School of the University, received a special award presented by the Asian Friendship Association. These 4 students came to Japan in September of this year and have been studying under the University's program for international students to foster global IT leaders which, was a project accepted to the "Career Development Program for Students from Asia."
