Taiwanese High School Students Visit the University for an Educational Trip

Intercultural exchange

On Tuesday, December 16, 40 students from the National San-chung Commercial and Industrial Vocational High School in Taiwan visiting Fukushima Prefecture for an educational trip, visited the University of Aizu. They participated in hands-on experience programs that exposed them to the University's computer environments and also met with some of our Taiwanese, Chinese and Japanese students during their visit.
The Taiwanese high school students learned a way to bring up an internet browser and how to send an e-mail by UNIX operation. They also visited the Anechoic Chamber and Performance Evaluation Laboratory for an introduction to research activities which included demonstrations conducted at each lab. At the University-Business Innovation Center, 2 representative students of the group had an experience with the motion capture in a special suit. High school students listened intently to the explanation and enjoyed learning with assistance from international students at the University, especially those from Taiwan.
After the campus tour, 2 students of the University joined each group for free conversation and they deepened mutual exchanges through talks about their campus life, life in Japan and Japanese culture, etc.

The University of Aizu has prepared hands-on experience programs for junior and senior high school students visiting the Aizu region for educational trips.
