The First "Science Cafe" in Fukushima Held with an Invited Speaker from the Univeristy
Assistant Lecturer Terazono of the Information Systems and Technology Center gave a lecture titled
"Did the Apollo really go to the Moon?" at a scientific lecture meeting, the "Science Cafe"
held at the Koriyama City Fureai Science Center.
Unlike styles generally used for lectures, the purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for participants
in a small group to enjoy questions and discussion on scientific topics directly with a speaker over refreshments.
The type of event has become popular across the country for its casual style. However, it was the first lecture
of this type held in Fukushima Prefecture.
A wide range of people in their 20s to 60s and older participated in the event and were highly interested in the topic and
in an introduction to the University's research on the Moon. Participants enjoyed talking with the lecturer and with each
other after the lecture, and many of them requested the event to be held again.
