JSPS Selected Mr. Gyorbiro as a Research Fellow

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has selected Mr. Norbert Gyorbiro in the Doctoral Program of the Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering as a research fellow under its fellowship program for young scientists in FY 2009. He is the third from the University to be chosen for the program, following Mr. Mianxiong Dong and Mr. Yuichi Yaguchi.
Mr. Gyorbiro is an international student from Hungary and has been working on a research titled "Design and Implementation of Multimodal Interfaces for Mobile Devices to Enhance Communication and Collaboration among People" under the instruction of Professor Michael Cohen of the Computer Arts Laboratory. He expressed his gratitude for the decision, saying that "I'm very grateful to receive this JSPS research fellowship. It provides a great support in carrying out my research work."
The JSPS research fellowship for young scientists aims to foster and ensure young researchers who will play important roles in future scientific research activities, and JSPS provides a monthly stipend to help these researchers devote themselves to conducting research. The fellowship will be awarded to Mr. Gyorbiro for a period of 2 years starting in April, 2009.
