AY 2008 Degree Conferment Ceremony
The University of Aizu held its AY 2008 degree conferment ceremony on Monday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. for a total of 278 students,
227 from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, 50 from the Master's Program and 1 from the Doctoral Program of the Graduate School
of Computer Science and Engineering who were authorized the completion of programs.
At the ceremony, President Tsunoyama conferred degree certificates to representatives of the graduates, Ms. Mami Saito from the Department
of Computer Software, Mr. Ryohei Kawano from the Master's Program and Mr. Yohei Nishidate from the Graduate Department of Computer and
Information Systems of the Doctoral Program. Students who were recognized as having attained outstanding academic and research performance were
also commended.
In a farewell address made by Mr. Yoshihiro Kawamura from the Department of Computer Software, he said that "I would like to thank
my instructors, relevant staff of the University, and especially my great friends I have met on this campus for their support, which
made my campus life meaningful. I hope to make the most of the experience and knowledge I gained at this university to take a leading
role in the age to come."
After the ceremony, the Support Association organized a graduation party and the graduates enjoyed their last moments at the University
with their instructors and friends.
