A University team won a prize in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, 2005 Asia Regional Contest in Tokyo
The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, 2005 Asia Regional Contest in Tokyo was held on November 3 and 4 at Tokyo University of Technology. A University team, "clax," won the seventh prize in the contest.
"clax" consists of Mr. Makoto Watanabe, Mr. Ben Hachimori, Mr. Hiroshi Saito, and coach Yutaka Watanobe. In a situation where it has become harder to pass the domestic competition with the number of participating teams growing every year, they successfully passed the domestic competition and accomplished good results in this year's Asia Regional Contest, due to a lot of practice they had even between classes and during summer holidays.
"We want to win the first prize next year!" was a comment made by team members, who are already looking forward to next year. They are now looking for opponents, aiming to further improve their skills.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest is a world-wide programming contest for university students sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery. Teams of three students compete over their programming skills by solving problems within a limited time period. 28 teams from Japan and 8 teams from overseas, who had passed domestic competitions on July 1, participated in the Asia Regional Contest this year. The team who won the first prize at the Asia Regional Contest will participate in the World Finals.
