Aizu IT Summer Forum
The first Aizu IT Summer Forum was held at The University of Aizu for 2 days on Thursday, August 23, and on Friday, August 24.
Approximately 300 people from within and outside Fukushima Prefecture participated in the forum.
Special lectures regarding the Earth Simulator, technological strategies of Microsoft Corporation, and project management, etc.
were given on the first day. On the following day, meeting session for 3 tracks, "venture/local businesses",
"advanced/service technology" and "web technology" was held and up-to-date information was given through lectures by
leading persons in each field.
At the closing ceremony, President Tsunoyama of the University who chaired the executive committee of the forum, said that
he had great expectations of continuing the forum next year and beyond, and expressed an objective to promote information transmission from Aizu
to all over Japan to establish a "name brand" for Aizu as a leading area in IT.
