The proposal on Advanced Education Program on Carrier Development for Foreign Students from Asia supported by METI and MEXT was approved in 2008. gInternational IT Nisshinkanh for fostering global leaders from Aizu was established in October 2008. Nine foreign students from Aisa (1 from Korea, 2 from Vietnam, 6 from China) entered the program. Besides regular courses in the Master Program, new courses and Business Japanese courses were provided to the students. The program was promoted though University-Industry cooperation. Local venture companies, some companies in Fukushima prefecture, and companies in Tokyo, Nagoya and other areas provided various supports to the program, such as sending engineers as lecturers, giving comments on the development of curriculum, providing offers for internship, and writing/editing supplement textbooks related with Aizu cultures, embedded systems, business skills, etc. The GP program supported by MEXT called gventure experiencing factories fAizu IT Nisshinkanhf had its second year in 2008. Totally 14 external speakers from companies, local region and government gave lectures in the fundamental course on business experiences and knowledge to more than 200 students registered in the program. In addition to the four factories established in 2007, totally 8 factories were established in 2008 (four new factories). Development for services/system/product was experienced by the students, with the advices from professors of U. Aizu and managers and engineers in companies. The project cooperated with IPA/SEC for investigation of functional safety in industry especially for embedded software was continued in 2008. In 2008, we created the curriculum and related teaching materials for education on functional safety used in one or two semesters. Also a member of UBIC gave a lecture on the topic to JASA (Japan Embedded System Technology Association) |
