About OPP

The University of Aizu aims to become a front-line university providing the most excellent range of the most up-to-date educational and research activities in the field of computer science and engineering internationally. It is a unique institution unparalleled by any other existing Japanese university’s hiring policy of internationally open and competitive faculty positions. International faculty members filled the majority of seats at the beginning.

The University of Aizu realized the need for a planning and management division that exclusively dedicated to the advancement of the University, the study of its future directions, and the making of original plans. This need led to the establishment of the Office for Planning and Management (OPM) headed by the University President.

At present, OPM was renamed OPP and we cooperate with all administrative organizations to support university operations.
