Call for Ph.D. symposium
The Ph.D. symposium will run as part of the Conference on Big Data Analytics (BDA) 2014, Delhi, India. The symposium provides a forum for Ph.D. students to present their ongoing work and get feedback from experts in the community. Students submitting to the symposium are expected to have at least one clearly defined problem that they are working on and initial solutions for the problem. Senior students are welcome to submit preliminary results as well.
Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work in the symposium, as well as participate in a poster session. The symposium will enlist the help of experts from the community, who will review the papers, and attend presentations to give technical feedback.
The submission should highlight the following: i) the core problem (or problems that the student is trying to address, ii) related work, iii) solution directions being pursued, iv) preliminary results (optional). The topics of interest are the same as those for the research track.
Submissions for the PhD symposium must not exceed 8 pages in length in the LNCS format. PhD Symposium papers should be single-author papers. The supervisor name should be indicated below the author name and should not be listed as an additional author. The deadline for PhD Symposium submissions is same as Research and Industry Papers. PhD Symposium papers will not be part of the main conference proceedings.The submissions will be accepted through EasyChair [https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bda20140] before August 4, 2014, 23:59 PST.
